Versatile vocalist Smita Bellur draws on both classical Hindustani songs and traditional Sufi music (Qawwali) for two open-air concerts of Indian devotional music with Dara Khan Manganiyar, master of Rajasthan’s beautiful 17-string Kamiacha; and percussionist Sawai Khan Manganiyar.
Together they also perform with Angharad Wynne and Gwilym Morus in Hands of Time, an eclectic mix of ancient Sufi verse, desert melodies, Welsh folk music and poetry, performed to an atmospheric backdrop of film shot on location in Rajasthan and Wales.
Part of BTB’s co-production with Jodphur RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival), supported by Wales Arts International.
