BTB Storytelling Summer School

A 3 day course with Michael Harvey

In the run-up to Beyond The Border International Storytelling Festival, we are delighted to offer a 3-day Storytelling Course with top storyteller Michael Harvey.  

 

harveypicMichael is one of the UK’s leading contemporary storytellers and has led many training programmes both in the UK and internationally.

 

This course is intended for those who want to tell stories as performance, or in workplace or community settings. The course will be practical, focusing on the key skills and attitudes
required to tell stories effectively and develop a unique voice.

There will be ample opportunity to work on individual stories and tell in small and large groups as well as receive constructive and focused feedback. Please bring stories that you want to work on.

 

 

The course will run from 10.00am to 5.00pm each day. Cost is £180 per person, inc. morning coffee/ lunch/ afternoon tea. Course places limited - early booking advised!

ARTISTIMAGEOne of the new wave of Irish storytellers brings her dynamic voice to the WMC’s Glanfa Stage. Clare has told tales all over the world from London's Globe Theatre to Singapore's Esplanade Theatre. Her tales range from the rowdy ancient myths of Ireland to the raucous folktales of Europe and beyond. Her distinct physical style engages audiences of all ages.

 

Clare will be performing a family session of tales - meddlesome faeries, wild eyed warriors, ranting kings...who knows what will jump out at you from inside these stories...Be prepared!
