We’re delighted to announce that we have confirmed a unique event for Beyond the Border.
The poetry of Rumi, Hafez and Khayyam will be set to spellbinding music by an ensemble of four of Europe’s foremost Iranian musicians, led by Siamak Nemat Naser, master musician and teacher and featuring Arash Moradi, Rana Shieh and Fariborz Kiannejad, all performers on the worldwide stage.
The ensemble has been put together for Beyond the Border by Arash Moradi, who also performs Stories from the Shahnameh at the festival with the Xanthe Gresham, and the Persian programme at Beyond the Border is supported by The Iran Society.
Fans of epic singing will also be thrilled by the work of legendary Zyhraus, Almas Almatov. Almatov and Akbope Adilbekova are bringing us Voices from the Kazakh Steppes – another magical swirl of poetry and music. Their performances at the festival are supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Air Astana. They will also be performing in the Main Hall of the National Museum Cardiff on Thursday 28th June. Details are here.
