Beyond The Border is one of five European Storytelling Festivals to have won an award under the Grundtvig Scheme – which aims to help develop adult education and enable more people to undertake learning experiences in other European countries.
Over the next two years, BTB will work with international partners from storytelling festivals in Rome, Sweden, Poland and Greece to share experiences, practices and methods of storytelling training for adult learners. The partners will also be working together to create an experimental multi-lingual storytelling performance to be unveiled at the end of the project.
The project will be launched in September at the Festival Internazionale di Storytelling 2011 in Rome, and will culminate in the multi-lingual performance as part of the 2013 Paramythos (Folktales) Festival of Kea, in the Greek Cyclades.
